Synthesis is the heart of chemistry. Creation of unprecedented compounds with new properties not only distinguishes synthetic chemistry from other sciences but also emphasize chemistry's central place in science. Catalysts are the workhorses of the manufacture of chemicals since more than 80% of globally modern chemicals are produced with at least one catalyst. For this reason, catalysis has been regarded as one of the most important research subject. This special issue contains 15 research articles that focus on catalytic application for organic synthesis, involving different types of catalysts.
