The 2017 impact factors (IF) have just been released by Clarivate Analytics, Journal Citation Reports. Although IF has its flaws, it is an important factor that authors weigh during their submission of papers. A higher IF indicates that the journal receives more attention in the scientific community and helps to attract more high-quality work, which consequently results in an increase in the visibility of the journal. We are delighted to announce on behalf of our editorial team that the two-year impact factor of Chinese Journal of Catalysis in 2017 is 3.525 which is a significant increase over the 2016 value of 2.813. The journal ranks the 26th among the 137 international journals (18.98%, Q1) in the subject of chemical engineering chemistry.

We see our role as reporting the state of the art research in every aspect of catalysis and promoting the development of catalysis science and technology not only from the China and Asian region, but also from all around the world through attraction and publication of high quality research work.

We appreciate the endeavors of the associate editors, the editorial board members, the guest editors and the peer reviewers who devoted their time and effort to the growth of the journal. On behalf of the editorial team, we sincerely thank our authors for trusting and selecting our journal as a platform to publish their significant work. It is justifiably expected that the quality and influence of Chinese Journal of Catalysis in the international catalysis communities will steadily increase with your continued support.
