Abstract: Resveratrol, occurring in trans- and cis-isomeric forms, is a phytoalexin with pharmacological activities, for example, anti-cancer, anti-cardiovascular disease, and life-span increasing properties. Two analytical methods, namely, micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) and microcolumn high performance liquid chromatography (μ-HPLC), were developed and compared for resveratrol isomer separation. Both methods are suitable for resveratrol analysis owing to their performances of high speed, good reproducibility, and low consumption of solvents and samples.
